I have seen other posts on this site regarding 955 prices, but most seemed to have fairly low hours. I'm looking at a JD 955 w/60" 70A loader and turf tires - no mower. It has 940 hours and the dealer is asking $12,999. The dealer that has it, originally sold and maintained it. Is this too much for 940 hours? How many hours should this engine be good for before a rebuild is required? Thanks.

Steve,I just sold my 750 with 1600 hours. It ran the same as the day it was new and I expected to run it well into the 3000 hour range with no trouble. I found a 750 with 60 hours on it and just couldn't turn it down. I got 6500.00 for it with a 6' bush hog. (It took only days to sell at that price) ....

The price on the tractor is right where I would expect it. The Yanmar diesel engine that is in a John Deere 955 is good for up to 4000 hours if taken care of properly. ....

If "bucket" refers to a 70A loader, then that is a great price in my opinion. Look it over real good to make sure that the tractor's condition is reflected in the hours. Good luck.
